Jed Swan, CEO

Jed joined 7AC as interim CEO on February 15, 2013 after serving on the Board of Directors for 2 years. Jed is the Founder and Managing Partner of Drydock Ventures, a boutique Private Equity and Venture Capital firm based in Boston.  Prior to founding Drydock Ventures, Jed worked in the Investment Management Division of Goldman Sachs.  

He has extensive operational, management, and deal experience working in a variety of roles at The Swan Group, an international conglomerate of manufacturing and distribution businesses in the HVAC and Water Systems Industries, where he worked for over ten years. Recently, Jed has been an active investor in, and advisor to, a number of technology, industrial, environmental and media businesses including: Fire Suppression Systems, Equator Environmental, Artaic Innovative Mosaic, QM Power, 7AC Technologies, Teton Gravity Research and PointVerde International.  

Jed received a BA in English from Georgetown University and a MBA from the Boston University School of Management. He is on the Board of the Bessie Tart Wilson Initiative for Children, and is active with several Georgetown University alumni organizations.

 

Peter Vandermeulen, CTO

Before founding 7AC, Peter founded BlueShift Technologies to introduce the use of continuous flow semiconductor processing to the semiconductor industry. He has raised over $20M for Blueshift and closed Venture Capital "A" round during his last MBA class at Babson College.

Prior to founding BlueShift, Peter was VP, GM of Brooks Automations' Factory Interface Systems, and ran marketing and sales for their Vacuum Systems Businesses Unit which he helped grow from $2.5M to $60M in 4 years. He helped design the E500 Ion Implanter at Varian Ion Implant Systems, which resulted in sales of over $2.4B and more than 800 units installed worldwide.

Peter has a background in physics (MS Eiendhoven University) and business administration (MBA Babson College) and holds 8 patents with many more applications pending.

 

Art Laflamme, Engineering Manager

Art brings over 30 years of mechanical design experience in the semiconductor capital equipment field to 7AC. At ASM Ion Implant, where he was responsible for the mechanical design group, Art worked on the highly successful E220 and E500 implanter products.

Past employers include Varian, Eaton and most recently Tokyo Electron where he was the Mechanical Engineering Director for reactive ion etch products. Art's forte for delivering elegant, robust and cost effective product designs which he is now leveraging on the design of 7AC's commercial product.

Art holds 17 US patents and a BS degree in Industrial Arts from Fitchburg State College.
